So far so good. We LOVE Kaiser.
A glamorous social worker. Get in touch if you have any problems.
Then a nice chat with the pharmacist who explained absolutely everything (lost the pic).
And then back to radiation

John is coming down, hopefully to fatten Hugh up and will also help with the transportation.
Small, numerous and cold meals/snacks are the way to go.think popsicles.Hugh and I discussed this a bit over the weekend but I want to encourage this eating pattern because it is usually what most people who, have lost their appetite, are able to accomplish.I have been told by many that marinol is not as good as the smoking/atomizing of pot itself, especially for the appetite. As far as I can see I would stick with the pot ubless the nausea becomes overwhelming then I would go with the zofran-remember if he can't take it orally(because of nausea/swallowing issues) it can always go rectal- probably more detail on that then anyone wanted to know. But a truism just the same.
The standard for looking at a feeding tube is about the loss of 10% of body weight: if he was 170# ( I don't know real weight) then you would look at 17 pound weight loss as a measuring point to look at a feeding tube. They are simple contraptions and infection is usually low. I can tell you more about them if and when you want to know. They also do not get in the way because they are close to the body.
Anyway, I wanted and hoped that I cleared some things up for where you are at this point in the journey. It is not going to get better any time soon but it will later on down the line. For now it is a fight.
I love you both
